We are the Jax Riverfront Alliance
We’re a new nonprofit here to help transform Jacksonville’s riverfront into a daily destination for recreation, culture, nature, wellness, and connection to inspire economic growth and community pride.
It’s nice to meet you!
Vision
Jacksonville’s downtown riverfront is envisioned as a world-class destination: a vibrant, interconnected network of parks that unite neighborhoods, celebrate the river, and offer welcoming spaces to gather, enjoy nature, and build community. More than green space, these public spaces are a catalyst for economic growth, cultural vitality, healthy living, and resilience—supporting a thriving, dynamic city now and for generations to come.
Mission
The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to stewarding a bold vision for downtown Jacksonville’s riverfront through the implementation, activation, and enhancement of a world-class system of parks and public spaces.
Momentum
The St. Johns River is downtown’s defining natural asset and the heart of our civic identity. The Jax Riverfront Alliance seeks to deliver an excellent riverfront experience through year-round programming, meticulous maintenance, and a commitment to constant improvement. The ultimate goal is to transform our riverfront into a daily destination for recreation, tourism, culture, nature, and wellness while inspiring economic growth, and community pride.
Public-Private Partnership
The Alliance is the result of years of community advocacy and visioning for our riverfront. Throughout 2025, a steering committee made up of public, private, and civic representation studied best practices and conservancies around the country. Their recommendation was a clear, actionable solution: a public-private partnership between the City of Jacksonville and the Jax Riverfront Alliance to serve as dedicated stewards for the riverfront—a trusted model in other cities but the first of its kind in Jacksonville.
We’re All Connected
A groundswell of investment is lifting Jacksonville’s urban core into its next era. Projects complementing our emerging riverfront include Groundwork Jacksonville’s Emerald Trail, McCoy’s and Hogan’s creek restorations, MOSH Genesis, the USS Orleck Naval Museum, and private developments such as the Four Seasons, RiversEdge, One Riverside, and more.
